Within a couple weeks, I think I’ll be able to offer the kids’ version of the Ballad of Brighid in trade paperback and perhaps a couple other goodies. Stay tuned.
I’ve gotten enough requests from friends to see that there’s a need for some of the skills I have. As of now, I am once again in the “business” of freelancing. Check out the Services I’m offering and let me know if you need more information. Rates are of course negotiable, based on the task at hand and taking your budget into account.
To celebrate the first year anniversary of The Ballad of Brighid of Atlanta’s chapter-one release, the full, collected story in trade paperback is now a simple ten bucks (a little more than 15% off, plus postage and tax).
Don’t mess around with the garbagefactory bookstore to order it, use this link between now and SC Comicon (April 2-3, Greenville, SC):
Sometimes people ask if they can do anything to help the book, and they totally can! If you want to help out:
1) I actually want people to READ the story! That’s the main thing. If a new book isn’t in your budget for the month, let me know and we can work something out. But I think it’s a pretty cool story, and I wanted to tell it to you. So that’s the main thing.
2) If you liked it, SPREAD THE WORD. A few words here on FB, on Twitter, Tumblr, your blog, or even to a friend over coffee. The digital editions have very “permissive” rights management, so share away. Write a review on Amazon, iTunes, B&N, Comixology, whatever. If you’re in a book club, see if you can convince the other weeknight winos to talk about it.
–And drop me a line; I’d be happy to hook your book club up with discounts–
3) See if your local comics shop or bookshop would be interested in carrying a copy or three. They can order from me hella cheap or directly from the distributor (not-so-hella cheap).
Any of that stuff would be super helpful, and thanks for thinking of us!
**Easiest way to contact me is through the contact page, because that automatically puts things in the right email folder.**
The first printing of the Ballad of Brighid sold out much faster than I expected. A second printing is en route though, and I think I might have more realistic expectations about how many books to keep around! Thanks for the reality check.
